In this activity, students learn the difference between the popular vote and the Electoral College, analyze the differences between the presidential and congressional elections, compare the various nomination processes, and learn about party conventions. This is a complete lesson with worksheets and PowerPoint presentations provided. This activity concludes with the game "Win the White House", in which students make their own decisions on issues, fundraising, and public appearances. This game can be played at various levels.

Honing their 21st Century Skills of global awareness and teamwork, students work in teams, role-playing international business consultants. Their job is to create a presentation for a group of American business people relocating to another country (students’ native country or a country assigned to them) about business customs and etiquette in that country, especially as they differ from that of the USA.

 

Students will be able to introduce themselves to the class by creating a fun and engaging animated video, with their own synced dialogue, which can include an avatar of themselves.
