Wednesday, June 12, 10-11:30 am (Session Repeats: June 13, 3-4:30 pm) | Using Chat GPT in Adult Education with Francisco X. Pinedo, Jr., OTAN SME | In this online session, participants will learn about using AI in ethical ways in the Adult Education classroom. Participants will be able to follow along and produce examples using tools like Chat GPT to create and enhance documents like cover letters, work emails, and essays for HSE exams. Repeat session.

Wednesday, June 12, 12-1:30 pm | Advanced Canvas: Mastery Paths with Dana Thompson, OTAN SME | Learn how to set up a Mastery Path and tap into best design practices for creating everything from enrichment to practice learning for your adult learners.

Wednesday, June 12, 1-2:30 pm | Media Literacy and Adult Education with Jennifer Gagliardi, OTAN SME| By teaching basic media literacy skills, adults can readily apply ed tech resources and critical thinking skills to separate facts from the factoids and make informed choices for themselves and their families. Learn how we can teach our students how to separate fiction from fact.

Thursday, June 13, 1-3:00 pm | PowerPoint Power-Up: Expert Tips and New Features - Part 1 with Farzana Cassim, OTAN SME | Topics in this first of a two-part series will include but are not precluded to: 1. techniques for creating smooth transitions, 2. methods to design interactive page-flipping, 3. embedding video content, 4. utilizing merge tools, 5. techniques to embed pictures within tables, and 6. more as time allows or as questions are asked and answered.

Friday, June 14, 1-2:00 pm | OTAN Tech Talk: Using MagicSchool AI for Your Classroom with Audrey Dierdorff | This OTT will give an overview on how MagicSchool is different from other online AI tools, where prompting is created by the user. MagicSchool AI creates prompt boxes with suggestions on how to write a prompt for desired results. While using the different MagicsShool AI choices to create content, teachers are also learning how to be prompt engineers.

Tuesday, June 18, 12-1:30 pm | Canvas: Integrating Apps - Google with Dana Thompson, OTAN SME | You do not need to throw away any of your Google classroom items with Canvas. Google & Canvas have seamlessly and now easily integrated so a student can type on a document and submit their work/form/create slides and more.

Monday, June 24, 10-12:00 pm | Put a Little MagicSchool in your Classroom with Audrey Dierdorff, OTAN SME | This online workshop will give an overview on how to use both MagicSchool as a teacher and as a student.

Tuesday, June 25, 12-1:30 pm | Advanced Canvas: Managing New Quizzes with Dana Thompson, OTAN SME | We will learn how to create customized quiz settings and explore innovative assessments that take your classic quizzes to new heights. New Quiz functions for better formative, check-ins, and summative assessments which can connect with the gradebook. Use New Quizzes for immediate feedback features and its ability to insert most media and attach a quiz for comprehension.

Thursday, June 27, 1-3:00 pm | PowerPoint Power-Up: Expert Tips and New Features - Part 2 with Farzana Cassim, OTAN SME | Topics in this second of a two-part series will include but are not precluded to: 1. creating transparent text overlays, 2. implementing rotating transitions, 3. crafting visually appealing bullet points to enhance content readability, 4. adding zoom focus effects to slides for dynamic presentations, 5. techniques to make text appear dynamically within content, and 5. more as time allows or as questions are asked and answered.
