Activity Description

This lesson plan will provide the basic steps to journaling for your learners.

Preparation

  1. Check the website to ensure it is not blocked at your site.
  2. The website provided in #1, has a great 24 min video, for learners and instructors.
  3. Read through the lesson plan.
  4. You may want to provide a folder, notebook, pens and/or pensils for your learners.
  5. Print and make copies of any handouts, if you find additional ones for your use. I will provide a prompting handout.

How-To

-Instructor will decide when to present a time for journaling fits best for your class.

-Options for journaling:

    -beginning of class

    -a certain time/day of the week

    -every time you meet

    -end of the class, last 20 minutes

 

 

 

Teacher Tips

You may want to offer different ways of journaling to learners, as listed above. Many learners dislike journaling for the writing aspect.

Journaling may also include:

-drawing

-gluing,pasting, taping pictures to a page in a notebook

-doodling

-or making an auditory recording of your thoughts
