This activity uses Padlet to help beginning ESL students to learn adjectives.

Warm-up
Engagement

Open the padlet board at https://padlet.com/susangaer/adjectives-xws6vewo80kc Have students practice the vocabulary. Chair, soft beautiful. This is a beautiful soft chair. Review pictures until you think your students have a idea of the sentenc format.

Introduction
Engagement

Today we are going to find pictures and write sentences describing the pictures.

Presentation
Engagement Enhancement Extension

Model the following activity for the students.

1. Share the link to the padlet account for your class to all be on the same padlet. Click on Share and then use a link for a QR code.

2. Demonstrate how to click on the PLUS sign and click on image search.

3. Type in their idea for their picture. brown table, ugly building, funny dog, etc.

4. Choose the picture they like.

5. Write their name and a sentence about the picture.

6. Click Publish.

Practice
Engagement Enhancement

Give students time to create their pictures and sentences individually or in small groups.

Have students read their sentences in small groups or in pairs.

Students can create more sentences and add pictures to the padlet board from home using the same process.
