Hero's Journey, A Gamified PowerPoint Presentation

Activity Description

Students will learn about the Hero's Journey through a gamified PowerPoint presentation. The students will use media to learn about each stage and apply it to a video of a lesser-known hero. 

Preparation

  1. Check the website to ensure it is not blocked at your site.
  2. Read through the lesson plan.
  3. Make sure the Presentation is working on your projector. 

How-To

Creative Educator has a separate, detailed lesson that can stand on its own or be used as a supplement to this lesson.

Use the PowerPoint presentation to present the entire lesson.

Have the students watch a story on Youtube called "Why Maui Snared the Sun".

Ask students to share what they found. How does the story of Maui show the Hero's Journey? Which parts of the story fit in each stage?
