 The YouTube video Math Antics - Scientific Notation breaks down into Intro; What is scientific notation? Exponents; Why Scientific Notation? Negative Exponents; Multiplication and division are related; Comparing numbers with scientific notation; Positive exponent; Dividing by a Factor of 10; and Conclusion. It is 14:20 minutes. You can select which of the sections you want to present.   

This activity gives students an introduction and the needed practice to reinforce classroom instruction on Scientific Notation. Students are asked to convert from standard form to scientific notation. Students who answer incorrectly are given an explanation of the correct solution and an opportunity to try again.
