Algebra Lab is an online learning environment that focuses on the high school math topics and skills called upon in introductory science courses.  It has an excellent glossary and math topics appropriate for our learners. These include fractions, decimals, exponents, order of operation, and word problems. It provides vocabulary development and practice of language in a context related to math and science. Includes extensive teacher support, lesson plans, practice exercises, comprehension exercise, and more. For this activity, you will be presenting Order of Operations.

In this activity, students are sent to Blendspace to watch two short videos on comma rules and take a couple of short quizzes on what they learned.  

Blendspace is an instructional tool that allows you to gather web resources in one place, to assess students with built-in quizzes, and to monitor their progress. It is a one-stop organizational tool for your class! Students can access the lessons from their devices, in the classroom or school lab. Blendspace also has numerous shared lessons to browse.

The GED Reasoning Through Language Arts assessment test measures a student’s command of a foundational set of conventions of standard English that include the essential components of grammar, usage, capitalization, and punctuation. On the HiSET, students will be asked to make revision choices concerning the organization, diction and clarity, sentence structure, usage, and mechanics.

In this activity, students learn about the Silk Road and Ancient Trade. This video is part of a series of very fast-paced, engaging videos (found on YouTube) on various aspects of World History. Currently, there are 42 videos on World History but over 250 including other topics such as US History, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, and Ecology. They might be just the ticket to engage your high school diploma students to learn their world history.
