Abstract:
For educators that are not experienced in using research findings to guide instruction, more information about how research can be accessed, understood, evaluated, and used is needed. "This brief describes why research is important to instruction, defines scientifically-based research and evidence-based instruction, explains what we know about how to help teachers use research, gives an example of teachers using research to improve their practice, and lists places where resource-based resources can be accessed."
