* Evidence-based Reading Instruction with EdTech *


Under law, WIOA specifies “the essential components of reading instruction” be incorporated into instruction. These components include alphabetics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary—the core components of Evidence-Based Reading Instruction (EBRI). While EBRI is the optimal model for increasing student achievement, it can be challenging to implement given limited resources coupled with the wide range of learner levels and needs within the adult education classroom.

During this session, we will explore a variety of free, high-quality tech tools that can be leveraged to develop all components of EBRY while providing authentic, engaging, relevant, and appropriate leveled reading options accessible to all learners. Participants will be introduced to a variety of tools and strategies—organized around the components of EBRI—can be used to increase engagement, support increased differentiation, and yield higher reading achievement for adult learners.
