TDLS 2023 - Using Bamboozle Games to Engage Beginning Literacy ESL Students

TDLS

Bamboozle is an online platform that allows teachers to use games prepared by other teachers or create their own online games. It can be used in person or in online classes. During this 90-minute follow-along workshop, I will talk about the benefits of using Bamboozle with ESL low beginner level students, and share two strategies to group the students in person or online, so they can work as a team during the game. I will show and talk about each feature available in the free version of Bamboozle. Participants will learn step-by-step how to create a new game, how to include the images, .gif and stickers to each question and how to save the game. Participants will use their own devices to create a Bamboozle account and a game. After each participant creates their game, they will share the link with the other participants in a Padlet, so everybody has access and will be able to use the games in their classes.
