Mastering Canvas for School Communication for Administrators: Part 1: Foundations of Canvas Communications

This two-part training series is designed to equip school administrators with the knowledge and skills to leverage Canvas as a powerful communication tool. Each session focuses on specific aspects of Canvas's communication features, providing in-depth exploration and hands-on practice.

Part 1: Foundations of Canvas Communication (90 minutes)

The first session introduces administrators to the fundamental communication tools within Canvas. Participants will learn to:

  • Create and manage announcements for school-wide and course-specific information
  • Utilize the Canvas inbox for efficient, personalized messaging with students, parents, and staff
  • Set up and moderate discussion boards to foster school community engagement

Through guided demonstrations and interactive exercises, administrators will gain confidence in using these essential features to enhance day-to-day communication within their educational communities. By the end of this two-part series, administrators will have a thorough understanding of Canvas's communication capabilities and the skills to implement an efficient communication system that enhances connectivity and information flow throughout their school.
