Using Northstar for Teaching and Learning

Description

Northstar Digital Literacy defines the basic skills needed to use a computer and the internet in daily life, employment, and education. The Northstar Curriculum is a comprehensive curriculum corresponding to the Northstar digital literacy standards and Northstar Online Learning (NSOL) is customized, self-directed online instruction and practice resources.

This session may cover a variety of topics for related to the free Northstar and/or the subscription including: looking at both the Northstar Curriculum and NSOL and discussing how to integrate both into synchronous and asynchronous instruction across programs to teach digital literacy skills and prepare students for the Northstar assessments. More will be covered as time allows.

Prerequisites
  • All participants must have basic computer skills and a valid email address,
  • Additional requirements may apply depending on the session.

OTAN Certificates of Attendance are awarded only for workshop sessions to those that are pre-registered and attend at least 75% of the scheduled time.
