OTAN Office Hours, from the Director, Renee Collins!
Using Google Forms and Quizzes, conducting class via Zoom, Canvas, or Moodle, or collaborating via Zoom Whiteboard or Padlet may be a handful of tools you have employed to engage your adult students virtually this fall. At times, you may be feeling overwhelmed with all the ed tech options that are available, but you need not feel you are alone. OTAN offers Office Hours twice weekly, a drop in forum where instructors can ask questions or get support on specific tools to use with students. The group size averages eight participants per session. Some recent topics have been:
- Convert Word or PDF to fillable documents
- Learn best practices for setting up your own virtual Office Hours
- Padlet, Remind, and Snipping Tool
- Add your Bitmoji to slides
- YouTube channel setup
So, while you can likely use Google or check YouTube for a tutorial, it may be fun to learn from and with your adult education colleagues from around the state. Register for OTAN Office Hours at the California Adult Education Professional Development Calendar. And please contact OTAN for your technology training needs at any time this year!
