As a part of our service to the adult education field, OTAN works to negotiate the best free or reduced-cost special offers for online curriculum licenses and professional development resources suggested by our OTAN Advisory Committee and adult educators in the field. See our current offers on our Curriculum Offers.

Starting in 2023, OTAN plans to offer some new opportunities in which adult educators can participate. Here is information about the programs we plan to offer:

  • Northstar Digital Literacy – Northstar Digital Literacy tests a learner's computer skills. They can build skills in key areas and demonstrate their knowledge by earning certificates and badges. We are looking for adult education agencies that would like to become Northstar locations. Review this Northstar Brochure for more information.

  • Newsela – With more than 15,000 texts and multiple new texts published daily across 20+ genres, Newsela takes authentic, real-world content from trusted sources and makes it instruction ready. Texts are published at five reading levels, so content is accessible to every learner, aligned to standards, and attached to activities and reporting that provide visibility into what students are learning and how teachers are leveraging the content in instruction. Learn more about ELA, Science, and Social Studies modules that would be a part of our curriculum pilot.

  • Learning Upgrade – Learning Upgrade is a Math, Literacy, and Digital Skills app for everyone. Learning Upgrade gives each student their own path to learning success. The program offers over 1,000+ lessons and 24 courses that work with students of all ages and abilities. The Learning Upgrade LMS enables teachers to track student progress in real-time.

If you are interested in learning more about and possibly participating in any of these curriculum pilots, please complete this Curriculum Offers Interest Form. We will also reach out in January regarding any upcoming webinars that we schedule to meet with these vendors and hear more about their products.

Thank you for your interest in this OTAN project.
