OTAN Special Canvas Sessions (Spring 2023)
Canvas Administrator Foundational Refresher Sessions
These refresher sessions will be offered with an Instructure trainer coming in January 2023. If you need a review or are a new administrator, plan to attend these 1.5-hour sessions.
- These foundational sessions are earmarked for Canvas Administrators and Leads. Participants should be Canvas Leads or Administrators of their agency's Canvas sandbox.
- Participants must be able to sign into a Canvas instance in order to participate.
- As these sessions are designed for CA agencies participating in the California Distance Learning Cooperative (CDLC), some resources, products, and services may not be available to non-CDLC Canvas instances.
Tuesday, January 3rd, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM - Admin Account Fundamentals
This session explores the Canvas account structure and will help with creating terms, course, section dates, adding administrators and permissions.
Tuesday, January 10th, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM - Admin Reports & Analytics
This session will explore the Canvas management systems which includes Account, Course, and User with subtopics discussed within each area.
Tuesday, January 17th, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM - Admin SIS Imports
This session covers SIS CSV Importing, Data Creation & Integration and Data Import Options.
Wednesday, January 25th, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM Admin Review & Troubleshooting
This is extra scheduled time dedicated to review any topic within the refresher sessions.
