OTAN Upcoming Activities – Week of 9/26

OTAN provides activities and resources to support our adult education colleagues. (All times below are PDT.)

  • Monday, September 26 at 12:00 pm, OTAN will present the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), which serves as an alternative exam to earning a high school diploma. This special event will briefly discuss the HiSET program, its transition to PSI, and what it means for the future vision for HiSET. To register, HiSET's New Home

  • On Thursday, September 29 at 12:00pm, OTAN will present Q&A with a Canvas Expert for Teachers. This opportunity is being provided to all members of the California Distance Learning Cooperative (CDLC) where a Canvas Expert can be asked questions regarding generating reports, viewing teacher courses, and any other support questions you may have.   • OTAN is excited to participate in the CATESOL State Conference from September 29 to October 2 in beautiful Pasadena! Join our sessions and visit our booth in the Exhibit Hall, and be a part of our Sunday morning Canvas Bootcamp!

  • The California Adult Education Digital Learning Guidance is now available! We are excited to share the Guidance and look forward to developing ways to support effective implementation of digital learning within adult education.

  • Web “siting” of the week: BITS This is an amazing site for ESL students. This site provides audio for short “bits” of literary text. Students have access to shortened, difficult English texts and can have it read to them.
