OTAN Upcoming Activities – Week of 5/16

OTAN provides activities and resources to support our adult education colleagues. (All times below are PDT.)

  • OTAN is hiring a Coordinator, Distance Learning Projects. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 20 by 3:00pm PDT. You can read more about this position on the Edjoin website: Coordinator, Distance Learning Projects position

  • On Thursday and Friday, OTAN will present the Digital Leadership Academy Final Report. Learn how the Digital Leadership Academy (DLAC) participants took the journey to create digital projects for their agencies that aligned with their training in leadership, communication, team building, and personal strengths and helped prepare them for the pandemic and post pandemic demands. You can sign up for Thursday (Day 1 – 1:00 to 4:30pm) at the California Adult Education Training Calendar and/or Friday (Day 2 – 9:00am to 4:30pm) at the California Adult Education Training Calendar.

  • On Tuesday, May 24 at 12:00pm, OTAN and CAEP-TAP will present Canvas: Your Choice for Learner Access & Equity. A partnership called the California Distance Learning Cooperative (CDLC) is offering all adult education providers in California the opportunity to have their own instance of Canvas. This informational session will give administrators a basic understanding of what CDLC membership can provide their agency, learners, and teachers.   • The Digital Leadership Academy application for Cohort 4 agencies is now open! Learn more about DLAC and how to apply to be a part of this professional development program: bit.ly/OTANDLACapp

  • Web "siting" of the week: Digital Literacy for Life and Work - A series of 16 digital literacy videos primarily for newcomer families in six different languages: English, Arabic, Dari, Spanish, Swahili, and Ukrainian.
