OTAN Upcoming Activities – Week of 1/10

OTAN provides activities and resources to support our adult education colleagues. (All times below are PST.)

On Friday, January 14 at 1:00pm, Debbie Jensen will present the January OTAN Tech Talk, The Future of Digital Education: CK-12. CK-12 FlexBooks 2.0 are interactive textbooks and reactive to the student's understanding, and they are FREE! CK-12 is focusing on adult education needs with ABE, ASE, and newly added ESL and CTE entries. Teachers can also easily adapt a FlexBook 2.0 and use it as they wish for their class. On Tuesday, January 18 at 10:30am, Farzana Cassim will present Using the Microsoft Edge Browser. This workshop will cover the improved key features and tools within Microsoft Edge, along with the basics of navigating with Edge and other interesting functions. On Wednesday, January 19 at 3:00pm, Penny Pearson will present Up Your Productivity with Mail Merge! (Part 2). This session will continue to expand on the power of Mail Merge using Microsoft Word to help make your work more efficient and save time. On Friday, January 21 at 12:00pm, Kristi Reyes will present Easy Online Tools for Student Practice. The online tools presented will be used to show how to search for and use user-generated content, create interactive worksheets, receive immediate feedback and results from students, and find or create drills or games that students can use individually, in break-out rooms, or as a whole class for all kinds of practice of course content.
