Upcoming OTAN Activities to Support Adult Educators – Week of 11/1

OTAN provides resources for our adult education colleagues who are teaching and supporting their learners remotely. (All times below are PDT.)

OTAN Office Hours provide an opportunity to ask more detailed questions and get support on specific tools to use with students. You can sign up for these OTAN Office Hours at the California Adult Education Training Calendar:

Monday, November 1 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Friday, November 5 from 10:00am to 12:00noon

OTAN is at the CATESOL State Conference on Friday and Saturday, October 29 and 30, and Friday and Saturday, November 5 and 6. Consider joining one of our OTAN presentations and visit our booth! CATESOL State Conference information
On Monday at 11:00am, Penny Pearson will present Microsoft: Up Your Productivity with Mail Merge! Use Microsoft Word Mail Merge and built-in templates to provide quick personalized messages, certificates, email messages, mailing labels, and more for learners. Teachers and administrators can also create learner folders with critical information visible at a glance and reward achievement with elegant certificates of achievement or recognition. On Thursday from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, ACSA will livestream its Every Student Succeeding ceremony. This is the event where they will honor our two 2021 Students Succeed honorees Miami Abdulal from Corona-Norco Adult School and America Moreno from Torrance Adult School, along with K-12 students from around the state. The ceremony will be livestreamed on the ACSA YouTube channel. It will also be recorded and added to its channel.
