Upcoming OTAN Activities to Support Adult Educators – Week of 8/9

OTAN provides resources for our adult education colleagues who are teaching and supporting their learners remotely. (All times below are PDT.)

  • We are currently discussing plans for OTAN Office Hours in the fall. We will let you know the fall schedule later this month. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to us for any tech assistance at support@otan.us or call our office at 916-228-2580.

  • On Monday at 10:00am, the CDE Adult Education Office will present Federal Program Monitoring Adult Education Instrument - Live Q&A. (NOTE: Only California agencies selected for this year's review (2021-22) can participate in this session and must have viewed the pre-recorded video before attending this Q&A session.) This interactive two-hour session provides participants with the opportunity to discuss topics covered in the Part 1 Pre-recorded video.   • On Friday at 1:00pm, Penny Pearson will present the August OTAN Tech Talk, Creating Accessible Documents. All learners regardless of ability should have an equal or similar learning experience in your classrooms. This OTAN Tech Talk will demonstrate the process of creating an accessible Microsoft Word Document using the built-in features and accessibility checker. Additionally, converting Word documents to PDF format and ensuring they are also fully accessible will also be demonstrated.   • The Capital Adult Education Regional Consortium, which is housed with OTAN at the Sacramento County Office of Education, is accepting applications for a Coordinator position. For more information and to apply (due August 11): edjo.in/1441566
