New Resource for Exploring Primary Sources
Many adult educators are familiar with the website iCivics for information and resources on citizenship and civics education. There is now a new mini-resource on the iCivics website called Exploring Primary Sources which serves as a resource hub for innovative primary source products, accessible professional development, and more. This collection of products was developed by a number of organizations and supported by grants from the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Program. Each item is designed to engage students with meaningful opportunities to learn through primary sources from the Library’s online collections and beyond.
Exploring Primary Sources has a set of filters to identify online resources in a wide variety of civics topics, including civics and government, economics, journalism, civil rights, and history. There is also a set of short video tutorials to help you learn more about using primary sources in your instruction. You can learn more and explore at the Exploring Primary Sources website and make sure to visit the iCivics website for additional resources for teachers and students.
