Upcoming OTAN Activities to Support Adult Educators – Week of 5/17

OTAN has scheduled a number of online webinars and Office Hours for our adult education colleagues who are teaching and supporting their learners remotely. (All times below are PDT.)

• OTAN Office Hours provide an opportunity to ask more detailed questions and get support on specific tools to use with students. You can sign up for these OTAN Office Hours at the California Adult Education Training Calendar:

• Tuesday, May 18 from 4:00 to 5:00pm

• Thursday, May 20 from 12:00 to 1:00pm

• On Monday at 1:00pm, Alisa Takeuchi will present Google: Mail and Contacts, Part 1. This workshop covers aspects of Gmail and Contacts as well as how to use the tools in the classroom, as well as different time-saving tips using Google Mail and Contacts to increase productivity and save time. • On Tuesday at 1:00pm, Debbie Jensen will present Google Classroom for Adult Education – Part 2. This workshop, a continuation of Part 1 from last week, will cover the basics of Google Classroom through beginning to advanced. Topics include how to create classes, add topics, enroll students, organize assignment streams, the gradebook, and much more. • On Thursday at 1:00pm, Barry Bakin will present ClassFlow. ClassFlow is free cloud-based lesson delivery app that delivers lessons, activities, polls, and assessments to all types of internet-connected devices: desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, and phones. ClassFlow is suitable for online, face-to-face, and hybrid instructional models in all program types and levels. You can sign up for this webinar at the California Adult Education Training Calendar.
