Upcoming OTAN Activities to Support Adult Educators - Week of 4/5

OTAN has scheduled a number of online webinars and Office Hours for our adult education colleagues who are teaching and supporting their learners remotely. (All times below are PDT.)

• OTAN Office Hours provide an opportunity to ask more detailed questions and get support on specific tools to use with students. You can sign up for these OTAN Office Hours at the California Adult Education Training Calendar:

• Tuesday, April 6 from 4:00 to 5:00pm

• Thursday, April 8 from 12:00 to 1:00pm

• On Wednesday at 1:00pm, Debbie Jensen will present CK-12: Free Digital Textbooks for Adult Education, Part 1. We're happy to announce that CK-12 has partnered with OTAN to make free, high quality ABE and ASE content available on the CK-12 platform to support adult learning. • On Thursday at 4:00pm, Susan Gaer will present Using Wakelet for Remote Instruction: Step-by-Step. Wakelet is a free platform that allows you to save, organize, and share content across the internet. This workshop will show attendees the uses of Wakelet for adult educators including how to curate and collaborate, step-by-step. • On Friday at 1:00pm, Melinda Holt will present the April OTAN Tech Talk, Insert, Edit, or Create Images using Google. This webinar will explore ways to take a screenshot or image and edit them using Google Draw - a free tool with Google Workspace for Education. After an image has been edited, it can then be downloaded for use in any application. You can sign up for this webinar at the California Adult Education Training Calendar

• The nomination period for the 2021 Adult Education Students Succeed Program is open through April 15. OTAN invites nominations of adult education learners who are successful as a result of the education received at California WIOA-funded adult education agencies.
