Upcoming OTAN Activities to Support Adult Educators – Week of 3/8

Posted on 03/08/2021

OTAN has scheduled a number of online webinars and Office Hours for our adult education colleagues who are teaching and supporting their learners remotely. (All times below are PST.)

  • Visit OTAN's COVID-19 Field Support webpage that we are continually updating with relevant information for teachers, students, and administrators: COVID-19 Field Support

  • OTAN Office Hours provide an opportunity to ask more detailed questions and get support on specific tools to use with students. You can sign up for these OTAN Office Hours at the California Adult Education Training Calendar:

    • Tuesday, March 9 from 4:00 to 5:00pm
    • Thursday, March 11 from 12:00 to 1:00pm
  • On Thursday at 1:00pm, Barry Bakin will present Easy Projects with Microsoft Office, Part 1. "Easy Projects with Microsoft Office" is a progressive series that will show instructors some easy, simple, project-based activities using Microsoft Office Suite. This is the first session in a three-part series where Microsoft Word and PowerPoint will be the primary focus with simple activities for language practice and learning. You can sign up for this webinar at the California Adult Education Training Calendar

  • On Friday at 1:00pm, Anthony Burik will present the March OTAN Tech Talk, Using Technology to Help Students Set, Monitor, and Achieve Goals. Goal setting is a crucial step for students to be able to reach their objectives. In this Tech Talk, we'll look at tech tools – stand-alone apps, social media, and learning management system functions – that educators can use as students set and achieve SMART goals, as well as highlight achievements and encourage students to persist. You can sign up for this webinar at the California Adult Education Training Calendar
