Learn More About ISTE's SkillRise
OTAN is fortunate to partner with other organizations across California and the country, and one of the organizations that OTAN has been working with is SkillRise, an initiative of ISTE, the International Society for Technology in Education. According to the SkillRise website, SkillRise helps organizations empower adult learning with educational technology by providing resources that support the planning, implementation, and sustainability of edtech solutions to prepare workers for the careers of today and tomorrow.
On the SkillRise website, there are a variety of resources to explore:
- The Profile of a Lifelong Learner is a research-based "north star" that helps adult educators, workforce development specialists, and employers define, measure, and advance the digital and lifelong learning skills that adult learners need to be successful in the workforce of today and tomorrow.
- The SkillRise framework was created to help employers as well as adult-learning and workforce-development organizations understand how to leverage technology to improve education and training programs.
- The SkillRise course is grounded in the SkillRise framework and walks educators through the process of developing a new vision for adult and workforce learning, all the way through sustainably implementing that new vision.
