Upcoming OTAN Activities to Support Adult Educators – Week of 10/12

OTAN has scheduled a number of online webinars and Office Hours for our adult education colleagues who are teaching and supporting their learners remotely. (All times below are PDT.)

OTAN Office Hours provide an opportunity to ask more detailed questions and get support on specific tools to use with students. You can sign up for these OTAN Office Hours at the California Adult Education Training Calendar:

Tuesday, October 13 from 4:00 to 5:00pm
Thursday, October 15 from 12:00 to 1:00pm (our new time!)

On Friday at 10:00am, Blair Roy will host Office Hours for Maximizing Moodle. The many features and resources available in Moodle (which OTAN upgraded over the summer) can be daunting to new users. Join us to get one-on-one support, help, suggestions and just plain old encouragement in using Moodle with learners. Attending teachers will drive the session with their questions and needs. On Friday at 10:00am, Susan Gaer will present Using Wakelet for Remote Instruction. Wakelet is a free platform that allows you to save, organize, and share content across the internet. Instead of simply viewing links, you are provided with content previews, the ability to add videos, and the option of uploading PDFs and images. Furthermore, you are given the option to read text using an immersive reader, a feature that could have significant value to those with learning disabilities. This presentation will show attendees the uses of Wakelet for adult educators. You can sign up for this webinar at the California Adult Education Training Calendar.
