Upcoming OTAN Activities to Support Adult Educators – Week of 9/14

OTAN has scheduled a number of online webinars and Office Hours for our adult education colleagues who are teaching and supporting their learners remotely. (All times below are PDT.)

OTAN Office Hours provide an opportunity to ask more detailed questions and get support on specific tools to use with students. You can sign up for these OTAN Office Hours at the California Adult Education Training Calendar:

Tuesday, September 15 from 4:00 to 5:00pm
Thursday, September 17 from 12:00 to 1:00pm (our new time!)

On Tuesday at 1:00pm, Joey Lehrman will present ISTE's Free Online Class: SkillRise! ISTE's SkillRise Initiative is offering a free online course this fall designed to help adult learning organizations develop technology implementation plans. The 10-week course will support your team in shaping a new vision for adult and workforce learning and is facilitated by experts in adult learning and edtech. On Friday at 10:00am, Blair Roy and Susan Coulter will host Office Hours for Maximizing Moodle. The many features and resources available in Moodle (which OTAN upgraded over the summer) can be daunting to new users. Join us to get one-on-one support, help, suggestions and just plain old encouragement in using Moodle with learners. Attending teachers will drive the session with their questions and needs. On Friday at 11:00am, Jaemi Nash, Paula Berry, and Francisco Pinedo will present Supporting Adult School Success Using Tech-Focused PD. Join Adult Education staff from Tamalpais and Soledad Adult Education programs for a live discussion on developing and implementing year-round professional development training to promote online learning success for both students and staff. Adult school administrators will lead the conversation to share ideas, lessons learned, and keep the focus on technology integration across programs aligned with targeted professional development.
