Upcoming OTAN Activities to Support Adult Educators – Week of 8/24

OTAN has scheduled a number of online webinars and Office Hours for our adult education colleagues who are continuing to teach and support their learners. (All times below are PDT.)

OTAN Office Hours provide an opportunity to ask more detailed questions and get support on specific tools to use with students. You can sign up for these OTAN Office Hours at the California Adult Education Training Calendar:

Tuesday, August 25 from 4:00 to 5:00pm
Thursday, August 27 from 10:00 to 11:00am

On Monday at 3:00pm, Dr. Carolyn Zachry, State Director/Administrator for Adult Education, will present Welcome Back! Adult Education 2020/21. Join Dr. Zachry as she welcomes all staff to the 2020-21 school year. This live webinar will be recorded and archived for those not able to attend. The archived webinar may also be used by administrators as part of their own welcome back activities. You can sign up for this webinar at the California Adult Education Training Calendar.
On Tuesday at 9:00am, Melinda Holt will present Google Sites: Building 1, 2, 3.... A website is used to disseminate information providing easy 24/7 access. This series (today is Part 3) will introduce Google Sites and its basic and intermediate site-building functions as well as themes, pages, and adding resources. Layouts and design principles will also be discussed in this hands-on webinar series. You can sign up for this webinar at the California Adult Education Training Calendar.
On Friday at 10:00am, Blair Roy and Susan Coulter will host Office Hours for Maximizing Moodle. The many features and resources available in Moodle (which OTAN upgraded over the summer) can be daunting to new users. Join us to get one-on-one support, help, suggestions and just plain old encouragement in using Moodle with learners. Attending teachers will drive the session with their questions and needs.
