Upcoming Webinars to Learn More about OTAN’s Digital Leadership Academy

Posted on 06/16/2020

OTAN announces an opportunity for California adult education agencies through the Digital Leadership Academy (DLAC) 2020-2022. OTAN offers this program for a full two years to ensure agencies can meet their projected technology integration, distance learning, or blended teaching goals. Your DLAC project is generally aligned to your agency’s continuous improvement goals as described in your WIOA Title II grant application. Teams of two or three teachers, coordinators, and administrators will represent agencies for the entire two years of the program. The program is designed to be flexible in how agencies can best use the resources offered by OTAN to support their agency goals.

Information about DLAC 2020-2022 and the online application, which is now open and accepting applications, is available on the OTAN website. As you review the proposed schedule of activities, note that OTAN expects DLAC participants to commit to and participate in all planned events. The selection criteria will help agencies assemble teams of teachers, coordinators, and administrators who will develop and enhance technology and leadership skills that will help agencies reach their goals. Carefully review the application process, and download the Word doc with the questions and scoring rubric, before creating and completing your online application.

OTAN has been fortunate to support 15 agencies across California in DLAC Cohorts 1 and 2 that implemented technology projects that benefitted their programs and students and addressed issues and gaps by integrating technology into classroom instruction and program administration. We are looking for a similar mix of agencies from across the state, especially those agencies in rural parts of California and community-based organizations receiving WIOA Title II funding, that are ready to fully commit to and support participation in this two-year academy and tackle the challenges they face at their agencies and in their communities. We invite you to hear from some of the Cohort 2 teams that recently completed DLAC as they share their experiences and for interested agencies to learn more about the application process:

Please visit the DLAC 2020-2022 section of the OTAN website for more information and to apply. The application deadline is Friday, August 14. We look forward to reviewing applications for the next DLAC Cohort!
