What to Expect

Participants will engage with legislators to:

  • Share the real-world impact of adult education programs
  • Advocate for policies and funding that support adult learners and communities
  • Strengthen statewide awareness of adult education’s role in California’s economy and educational ecosystem

Why this matters for adult education

Legislative Action Day reinforces the connection between local adult education programs and statewide decision-making. This event pairs celebration with advocacy highlighting both the achievements of adult learners and the ongoing need for thoughtful policy and funding support.

For administrators, instructors, and staff, Legislative Action Day offers a structured way to participate in advocacy efforts while strengthening collaboration across regions and programs. For adult learners, it provides a platform to elevate lived experiences that demonstrate the real-world impact of adult education.
