Celebrate Your Students: 2026 Students Succeed Nominations Now Open!

Posted on 01/08/2026

Does your agency have a student who inspires others? OTAN is now accepting nominations for the 2026 California Adult Education Students Succeed program. From now through March 20, 2026, we invite California adult education agencies to nominate outstanding learners who have transformed their lives through education.

Why Nominate?

The Students Succeed program honors adult learners who balance significant life responsibilities while overcoming difficult challenges to reach their goals. By submitting a nomination, you give your students the chance to:

  • Share Their Story: Qualified nominees are featured in our statewide success story database.
  • Receive Recognition: Honorees receive official certificates, with notifications sent to agency administrators and state legislators.
  • Be Featured in a Video: The two highest-scoring honorees will have a professional video produced by OTAN highlighting their success.
  • Attend the ACSA Conference: The top two honorees and their nominators will be invited to attend the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) fall conference, with travel and events covered by OTAN.

Eligibility & Process

Nominations are open to all California adult education providers, including school districts, community colleges, library programs, and correctional facilities.

  • Nomination Period: January 1 – March 20, 2026.
  • Selection: Each nomination is scored by three independent readers using a formal rubric focused on resilience, community contribution, and goal achievement.
