Juneteenth Lesson Plan

President Joe Biden signed a law establishing June 19, known as Juneteenth, as a national holiday to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States.

The Choices Program at Brown University offer a free lesson plan for teaching about this important national holiday entitled, Juneteenth: Symbolism, Ritual, and Meaning. There are standalone activities as well as a full lesson plan to cater to your student’s needs.
