Infographic: The Time it takes Technologies to go Mainstream

The mainstream adoption of new technology has accelerated. This infographic illustrates this phenomenon by “comparing the invention year...with the year they became widely adopted.” It took a roughly “30-year cycle” from invention of the internet, email and mobile phones until mass adoption. However, it took just 13 years between the first smartphone and the first iPhone.
