This Week’s Upcoming Activities

Monday, May 5, 3-4:00 pm | Putting English to Work in Canvas with Francisca Wentworth | With the statewide adoption of Canvas, the complete English as a Second Language series, Putting English to Work 1-3, has been revised and updated with many interactive exercises that cover all language competencies. This session will walk you through the course and share the various interactive learning activities.

Tuesday, May 6, 11:30-12:30 pm | Mastering Rubrics in Canvas | Discover how to create, integrate, and apply rubrics to assignments and discussions on Canvas.

Wednesday, May 7, 2-3:30 pm | Canvas ePortfolios for CTE | This feature helps Teachers and Students create a collection of documents from educational projects, submissions, experiences, and other work products.

Monday, May 12, 2-3:00 pm | Canvas Discussions | In this session, participants will learn all about the new Discussion redesign and how to create and use Discussions for engagement. Discussions have been upgraded to enable Podcast feeds, new Checkpoints and summary features for easy grading.

Tuesday, May 13, 11:30-12:30 pm | Aligning and Tracking Outcomes in Canvas with Dana Thompson | Learn how to use Canvas Outcomes to track student mastery effectively by importing Account, State, and Common Core Standards into your courses. Align activities with measurable learning goals to enhance instructional success. This session complements last week’s session on Rubrics, but you can attend either or both for a complete understanding of these essential tools!

Friday, May 16, 1-2:00 pm | OTAN Tech Talk: AI Tools for Teachers, Oh mAI! with Francisco X. Pinedo, Jr. | Learn about AI tools for both teachers and students to use in the AE classroom.
