What is New in Online Civics Education and Citizenship Prep?

Friday, May 12, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

This OTT will update adult educators with the Naturalization Test Redesign, provide USCIS Eligible to Naturalization Factsheets, explore the new @USCIS on YouTube, cover added resources at LINCS.ed.gov, provide insights and links to Content-Integrated Language Instruction for Adults with Technology Support (CILIA-T), and cover important upcoming dates in Adult Civics Education.


Wednesday, May 10, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM | Advancing Canvas: Google Integration
Register for this session and learn how to leverage resources from Google Drive directly in Canvas. Session will include the following topics: Overview, Integration, Collaborations, Cloud Assignments, Rich Content Editor, and Adding to Modules.

Thursday, May 11, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM | Canvas: Assignments
Foundational session for educators new to Canvas. This features how to build an assignment in Canvas and how it relates with the gradebook. Beginning session.

Friday, May 12, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM | Open Educational Resources 103 – Advanced
Geared towards the Canvas LMS, discussions will be centered around intentionally creating OER resources for students and teachers. Reviewing modules in the Canvas Commons that can be downloaded into Canvas courses will also be modeled and practiced.
