OTAN Curriculum Offers to Consider for Your Instruction

During National Distance Learning Week, we focus on ways that we can incorporate more online learning and distance education into our classrooms and adult education programs. For many years, OTAN has worked to negotiate the best free or reduced-cost special offers for online curriculum licenses and professional development resources suggested by our OTAN Advisory Committee and adult educators in the field. We have a number of current offers that may be of interest to you and your colleagues at your WIOA-funded adult ed agency as you settle into the school year and think about how to offer more instruction and learning at a distance.

• If you are interested in creating a blended learning course which combines face-to-face and online instruction, consider signing up for the Blended Learning Course from Essential Education. This course is meant to introduce blended learning and technology tools that will support blended learning for you and your students.

• For your ESL, ABE, and HSE students, Learning Upgrade enables adult learners to learn anywhere using their own smartphones or computers. Learners have access to over 900 English and math CCRS-aligned lessons to help accelerate growth. Learn more on the Learning Upgrade Curriculum Offer Page.

• For your HSE students, i-Pathways is an online HSE prep curriculum with modules in Basic Writing, Basic Math, Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Consumer Education. • For your HSD and HSE students, OTAN has partnered with the NROC Project to offer online Developmental English and Developmental Math courses for students striving to meet basic college entrance requirements, as well as EdReady English and math readiness courses that personalize a learner's path to subject mastery within the context of a specific educational goal. • For your HSD students, CK-12 offers fully customizable curriculum covering math and science using FlexBooks with integrated adaptive practice, interactives, and engaging content. • For any class, teachers and students with Learn360 accounts can access more than 148,000 multimedia resources—including high-quality full-length videos, video clips, images, audio files, articles, activities, worksheets, interactives, and more—on any Internet-enabled device, anytime, anywhere.
