Please join us for OTAN's next Tech Talk on Friday, October 11 from 1pm to 2pm PST. This month's Tech Talk is on Screencastify by Monica Espinoza from Torrance Adult School.

Screencastify is a simple, easy-to-use screencasting tool to record a screen while using the Chrome browser or a Chromebook. This OTAN Tech Talk will show how teachers can use Screencastify as an instructional and/or assessment tool. Learn more by attending this webinar! You can sign up for the webinar at the California Adult Education Training Calendar.

You can listen to previous OTAN Tech Talks on our YouTube channel. The recordings are here: OTAN Tech Talks YouTube Playlist (And make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel while you’re there!)

If you’re interested in sharing a tech tool or tip with your colleagues in the field, submit your presentation idea using this OTAN Tech Talk Presentations Google Form. We are always interested in learning about the latest tech tip or idea that can be shared among adult educators.

We also want to remind you about our open, face-to-face training on Teaching Vocabulary with Technology by Kristi Reyes at the Folsom-Cordova Adult School on Friday, October 11 from 9:45 to 12:45. Adult students need a strong vocabulary foundation in order to develop their literacy and use their English effectively in their many roles: employees, parents, and community members. Learn a research–proven six-step process infused with technology to help students not only better learn and retain vocabulary but also move new terminology into their productive vocabulary knowledge. Learn to use select resources appropriate to each step of direct vocabulary instruction. You can register for this open training at the California Adult Education Training Calendar

We look forward to seeing you online or in-person on Friday, October 11!
