In this activity, those needing drill and practice in the proper use of grammar can choose the sentence that is grammatically correct. For each answer they get right, FreeRice donates 10 grains of rice through the World Food Program to help end hunger. Use this fun and engaging site when a student needs more help in this area. There are also questions that can be used for reviewing the following topics:

  • English Vocabulary
  • Geography
  • Math (Multiplication Table and Basic Math/Pre-Algebra)
  • Science (Human Anatomy)
  • Chemistry

Preparation

  1. Review the site to make sure your students are ready for the high-level grammar and punctuation questions included on the site.

Teacher Tips

  • You may have to disable ad blockers to play for very long, since it is the ads that help pay for the rice.
  • Preview content for reading level appropriateness.
  • Encourage a growth mindset when students miss questions.
  • Use pair work for lower-level learners.
  • Discuss digital advertising and internet awareness.
