How-To
Here's what the free Wayground Starter (Basic) plan offers for quizzes:
How many quizzes can you create? As of January 1, 2026, the Starter (Basic) plan allows you to store up to 20 Wayground resources in your library. This limit counts both resources you create yourself and any public resources you've copied or customized. Note that using resources directly from the community library without customizing them does not count toward this limit.
What kinds of quizzes/activities can you create? The free plan gives you access to the full Wayground Instructional Suite, meaning you can create Assessments/Quizzes, Lessons, Flashcards, Interactive Videos, and Passages.
What question types are available? The Basic plan includes basic question types like multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blanks, and polls. Premium question types (such as more advanced formats) are restricted to paid plans.
Other notable free features: You can host both live (teacher-paced) and asynchronous sessions, use Wayground AI to generate content from various sources, and apply basic accommodations like Read Aloud and Extra Time. However, features like "Review & Submit" and "Focus mode" are not available on the free plan.
In short: you get up to 20 total quizzes/resources, with basic question types. For unlimited storage and premium question types, you'd need to upgrade to a school/district plan or the paid Individual (Super) plan.
In terms of creating quizzes, Wayground has a searchable, easy-to-understand help page. To access the help page, just click on the purple circle with the question mark in the bottom right corner of the home page and choose "Help Center" from the pop-up menu:
Then, you can search by help topic or choose from a menu of help topics:

Teacher Tips
Always check the quiz before publishing it or assigning it to your students to check that the content and answers are correct and that there are no glitches in the quiz.
More Ways
On the home page, you can search through 1,000s of quizzez that other Wayground members have created. However, instructors will need to create a free, individual Wayground account to host or modify this activity.

Warm-up
Engagement
Note: There are thousands of ways to use Wayground quizzes. This is just one example of how they can be integrated into a lesson. For this example, we'll imagine that the class is a Citizenship class filled with students with a range of English abilities.
Warm-up: Vocabulary review
Students will review some of the vocabulary that they had studied in a previous class by practicing with a Wayground set of Citizenship vocabulary flashcards. They'll practice alone for 10 minutes, and then practice with a partner for another 10. In the 2nd half of the activity, one partner will read the vocabulary word and their partner will attempt to define the term for 5 minutes. Then, they'll reverse roles.
Introduction
Engagement
The students will learn about citizenship and responsibilities.
Presentation
Engagement Enhancement
Publish and launch the Wayground Citizenship and Responsibilities presentation. This will be done as a live, interactive whole class activity. Project the Wayground generated activity code on the board. Students will go to joinmyquiz.com on their device, whether that be their phone, a tablet, or a compluter, and enter the code to join the activity.
Project the slides on the board. For the informational slides, have volunteers read different parts of the information. Do a quick comprehension check to check for understanding.
For the question slides, students will type their answers into the box on their device. Everyone will see the results on the main board in real time.
Continue on to the next question or informational slide in this fashion until the end of the presentation.
Practice
Engagement Enhancement Extension
The students will review the content in a new conxtext by working in groups and watching the Wayground "Good Citizenship and Responsibility" video quiz. They will watch the video together on a device and discuss the answers to the quiz questions together.
Evaluation
Engagement Enhancement Extension
Students will take the Wayground "Citizenship: Rights, Responsibilities, Duty" quiz to assess whether they understand the difference between rights, resonsibilties, and duties.
Application
Engagement Enhancement Extension
Students can expand their knowledge of citizenship rights by watching this Wayground presentation on "9 Responsibilities of Citizenship" and taking the quiz. Monitor engagement and student results on your Wayground class page if this is assigned as homework.
