Climate Change: Deliver a Presentation Part 3-- Intro to Video Recording Software

On the board, present the following questions as a warm-up: 

What are some personal or social media apps you use to record yourself? If you don’t use any social media apps, what is your opinion on recording yourself using social media apps?

Students may take their time to share in pairs or as a small group. 

Ask the students:  What is the best way to record yourself delivering a presentation? (One option is to show a person delivering a virtual presentation online.) Teacher talks about possible requirements needed when recording a presentation, such as:  

• Face must be in frame
• Audio is loud and clear
• Presentation slides are clearly seen by audience
• Other requirements  

Present Canva, Zoom, and Canvas screen recorder (if Canvas is available) and other screen recording platforms. Show students where the record buttons are.

Note: Zoom is potentially well-rounded since it can record all presentation platforms

Students try each of the options to see which platforms are usable with their own presentation. They may use a star rating worksheet (found in the additional documents for this lesson.)

On the checklist worksheet, students identify which of platforms they will use for their presentation  

Students begin recording their presentations on their preferred platform using the criteria in the introduction section.
