In this lesson plan, students identify local community issues, navigate online volunteer databases and discover volunteer/service learning solutions, design a data-driven infographic, collaboratively design a clear infographic using standard digital templates, and create a service learning project plan.

Preparation

  1. Check the website to ensure it is not blocked at your site.
  2. Read through the lesson plan.
  3. Print and make copies of any handouts.
  4. Search the volunteer databases and find others for your local area to ensure students will find volunteer opportunities.
