Activity Description

This lesson plan will give you several activites to introduce breathing techniques in the classroom.

Preparation

  1. Check the website to ensure it is not blocked at your site.
  2. Read through the lesson plan.
  3. Print and make copies of any handouts.

How-To

-Instructor will decide when breathing exercises fit best in your classroom.

Options:

  1. Beginning of class
  2. End of class
  3. Before or after a break
  4. When you feel you all need a breathing moment

 

Teacher Tips

You may ask learners if they have tried breathing exercises. Can breathing exercises help you? These exercises last 1 to  3 minutes. Let's start with 1 minute. If you don't want to participate, allow the rest this quiet time, please.

More Ways

You may want to try different types of breathing exercises for your classroom. You can try various places also.

Options:

1.Try outside

2.Maybe turn the light down

3. Add music

4.Ask your learners if they have suggestions

5. Add simple visuals. (see handout included)
