A lesson plan for using these skills, turn taking, memory, critical thinking, following directions and peer interaction.

Preparation

  1. Check the website to ensure it is not blocked at your site.
  2. Read through the lesson plan.
  3. Print and make copies of any handouts.

Objectives:

By the end of the lesson learners will be able to:

1.Show ability to work on individualized programs via online learning (zoom), this can be adapted for face 2 face also.

2.Demonstrate appropriate social skills while in class.

3,Exhibit the skill to follow directions on a regular basis.

Warm-up
Engagement

Assess prior knowledge by reviewing. Create an environment for learning.

Instructor will ask students if they know "what is February known for"? Let's all learn together.

Introduction
Engagement

Provide overview of content focusing learners' interest and attention.

Let's all learn toghether. After the presentation we will go over the information. If you know more we can add it to our list.

Presentation
Engagement Enhancement

Teach new content/concepts using a variety of teaching strategies. Check for learner understanding. 

Instructor provides the PPT.

Practice
Engagement Enhancement

Model the activity, work together with the learners.

Instructor will ask questions for student to either raise their hands, nod their head or raise their eyebrows. 

Instructor will include all students for participation, actively engaging all aspects of communication.

Instructor will create a safe environment for students to make mistakes.

Evaluation
Engagement Enhancement

Assesslearners' performance of the skill. Include oral,aural, written or applied assessments. 

Instructor will evaluate the eye contact to the presentation and who actually is looking at the PPT.

Eye contact also relates to head being in an upward position, not looking downward (not where the device is).

Application
Engagement Enhancement Extension

Create an activity where learners apply new aquired skill to personal lives.

Some activites may include: All information from PPT

1. Ask learners,what are some things you may do in February, information from the PPT. Q/A

2.Have learners draw what they have learned and use in their life.. This helps with visual learning and crreativity. Some learners my use magazines, pictures and make a visual collage. 

Doing activites like these, shows that learners reflect on what they have learned and how they will use it.
