This Web site is for any level of ESL student who is a beginning computer user and needs help with using a mouse. You can assign higher level students to use the site on their own; however, lower literacy students will need help reading and understanding the directions.Preparation
Make sure the site is not blocked at your school before having students use it.How-To
This site can be used as a whole class activity if all your students are beginning computer users, but it is best used in a lab setting for individuals to gain mouse skills. Open a Web browser and go to the URL. Follow the onscreen directions. The mouse skills covered are the following:
- Holding, moving, and clicking
- Pointing and clicking
- Dragging
- Selecting radio buttons and check boxes
- Using drop-down menus
- Scrolling
- Completing forms
- Highlighting (selecting), cutting, and pasting
