Abstract:
This is the report of the National Commission on Adult Literacy on the need for substantial increase in the adult education and literacy system in the United States. It reviews current factors that lead to a less than prepared U.S. workforce and proposes new federal legislation to restructure and expand the present system of adult education and workforce preparation. Appendices include references and data.
