Abstract:
This report describes the features and results of an innovative workplace learning collaboration between Motorola Inc. and Merex Corporation, April 1987 - September 1989. The project addressed the gap between employee skills and the demands of the modern high-technology workplace. It assumed that the problem resided in a mismatch between employee skills and the skills demanded by workplace materials and situations. Thus the problem was attacked by changes in workplace materials and organizational approaches as well as improvements in employee skills.
