Abstract:
The final regulations for the TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) legislation had an effective date of October 1, 1999. The regulations, 64 Fed. Reg 17720-19931 (April 12, 1999), made many changes in implementation of the law by the states, and this document summarizes how twelve of the key issues were resolved.
