Abstract:
Cooperative education can enhance classroom instruction by providing practical work experience that is relevant to students' career goals. The digest looks at evidence from the literature on cooperative education's benefits for students, schools, and employers. It examines some of the issues raised by the program's advocates and detractors and summarizes recommendations about the future of cooperative education.
