Abstract:
This document summarizes one initiative undertaken as a part of a research and implementation initiative of the Outreach and Technical Assistance Network (OTAN) during the 2000-2001 school year. Two California adult schools were provided with technical assistance and staff development designed to enhance student instruction via increased integration of technology into classrooms. In Phase II of the project at Vista Adult School, a partnership with AlphaSmart, Inc. was formed. Four teachers used keyboard sized word processing devices to improve the writing skills of their students in various levels of ESL.
