Abstract:
The booklet presents the indicators of program quality in adult education programs called for by the National Literacy Act of 1991. They eight indicators were developed through a process including the participation of adult education administrators and practitioners, adult learners, researchers, and other experts in the field. Topics include educational gains, program planning, curriculum and instruction, staff development, support services, recruitment, and retention. The appendices include resource documents, focus group participants, and the state directors of adult education.
